Michter's American Whiskey

Drink the bottle labeled "10." Leave your tasting notes in the comments.

Unlike Bourbon or Rye, this whiskey is aged in a way that utilizes whiskey-soaked barrels to achieve a rich and unique flavor profile. This allows mellow flavor with less intense smoky, charred influence found in bourbons. Instead, it has a sweetness, oak, mint & spice flavor.

Age: NAS

Proof: 83.4

Origin: Louisville, KY

  1. Color: medium-light amber
Nose: a lot of spice, black pepper, some floral aromas, some citrus, some leather and cedar - old jewelry box as Alison said.
Taste: soft, vanilla, more leather, citrus notes,
    Finish: long, a little minty/cooling

This might be my second favorite based on the aroma alone. I wish the taste lived up to the hype of the aroma, but it’s still pretty great.

  2. Elegant. Nice nose, but taste is also a nice sipping whiskey. I like it. Short finish, but pleasant.

  3. Agree nose is really nice. Taste is mild spice and earthy. Maybe my tastebuds are burned from #9 but this was smooth, almost too smooth. A good everyday whiskey (bourbon). 3.

  4. This was pretty good! Not my favorite but still solid. Probably a little too much oak in the flavor, but definitely recognize the corn flavor now that I know it’s a whiskey
