Nick Offerman loves Lagavulin. In fact, he loves it so much he created his own edition. Nick also loves Guinness. This 11-year-old Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch was finished in barrels from the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, MD.

Nose: It really does smell kind of like bandaids set on fire. But in a good way? Chocolate sea-salt caramels. Peat.
Taste: Smoke, chocolate, peat, some sherry sweetness
Finish: cooling?
Emy calls it hospital whiskey - because it smells like band-aids and hand sanitizer.
This one is definitely a scotch drinkers scotch. I’m enjoying it, but it certainly isn’t an easy, everyday whiskey.
Peat, smoke, earth, and chocolate. Very smooth. I’m a smokey scotch fan and this is a good one! Though since Philip said bandaids,,,I can’t get that taste out of my head. We’ve had too many good whiskeys for me to put a number on this, but it’s top 3 or 5. I wish there was more to the finish. 3.
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! Very smoky scotch, which I actually seem to prefer. I think because it has a cleaner finish. Very smooth and enjoyable.
